Obituary of Robert Pitts

Shreveport, LA ? Memorial services for Robert E. Pitts will be 10:00 AM, January 16, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home, Shreveport Chapel. The family will receive friends on January 15, 2012 between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 at Boone Funeral Home-Shreveport Chapel. Robert was born on July 14, 1929 to Robert and Leona Pitts in Lincoln, Arkansas and passed away on November 27, 2011 in Shreveport. During Robert?s life, he received a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Arkansas, Masters of Science degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana and Master?s degree from LSU-S. He proudly served his country in the Korean War. Then he started his long career in chemistry at United Gas-Pennzoil. He stayed active in the community, serving as District Governor for Delta Sigma Phi, and officer for local section of the American Chemical Society. After retirement from Pennzoil, he started a second career as a realtor. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Hanna Pitts. He is survived by daughter, Brenda Pitts Basile and husband Barry; sons, Robert Stuart Pitts and wife Lynn, Samuel Farrell Pitts and wife Delia and Kelvin Lewis Pitts and wife Sharon; granddaughters, Aimee Basile, Katherine Pitts, Stephanie Pitts, Hanna Pitts, Bailey Basile and Emily Pitts; sister, Mary Lou Pitts Lorett; and sister-in-law, Shirley Murray Pitts. The family asks that donations be made to the Robert H. Pitts Scholarship in care of Roger Pitts, Lincoln, Arkansas
