Jack Mixon was an icon to most of us youngsters back in the day.As young rodeo kids we looked up to men like Jack, he was a cowboy first, and at that time all of us wanted to be cowboys and horseshoers , it seemed like the perfect fit for me, shoe horses during the day, rodeo night so i asked Jack for a job he said sure. He gave and so many of us a chance to be horseshoers. In my case it seemed great pulling shoes and holding horses, no big deal but when we got to a place that had a bunch of horses, it was real work. i helped jack for about a month until i had enough money to go rodeo awhile, jack all ready knew that i would go rodeo as soon as i could and i did. Jack Mixon was a mentor and a good friend. Humble in all ways.
Billy Mack, your Dad was an "oak" , sorry i didnt get to come to see him off for the last time.

My thouhgts and prayer to the family and many friends. He was a good man with a big heart and was never to far away to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Jesus said there are many mansions in my fathers kingdom and I go to prepare a place for you.

God be with all the family at this time. Jack was a dear friend with a big heart. Kept my horses going for years, even after we moved to Arkansas. Was a privilege having him for a friend.
