Obituary of Jack Mixon

A visitation for Jack Douglas Mixon will be held 3:00 pm, Monday, April 27 at Open Range Fellowship Church, 9950 Highway 80 in Greenwood, Louisiana. A memorial service will follow. Jack passed away April 23, 2015, after a courageous fight with cancer.
Jack was born and raised in Jonesboro, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Muriel Mixon, and wife Frances Mixon. He is survived by his sister, Bobby Bradshaw of Houston; his brother, Jim Mixon, of Sterlington; son Billy Mack and wife Carol; stepson David Stone; granddaughers Mindy Hinderberger and husband Joey, Chelsey Broyles and husband Will, numerous nieces and nephews, and six great grandchildren.
Jack had a big heart, helping many along his life's journey. He spent many years participating in the sport of rodeo in calf roping and team roping. He loved his animals, fishing, and was proud of his family. His family rejoices that he will be spending eternity in Heaven.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Progressive Care and Willis-Knighton North.
