A Salute of Appreciation Military personnel have traditionally rendered a “Salute of Appreciation” to those employees of the Veterans Administration who have dedicated many years of professional service in aiding and caring for veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. This “Salute of Appreciation” is rendered to Mrs. Catherine Lucille Basham a loyal professional Registered Nurse at the Overton Brooks Veterans Hospital who provided 30+ years of dedicated care to ArkLaTex veterans. To her family it symbolizes the love and respect that we veterans have for Lucille. And to Lucille it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank her for her service and devotion to her family, her country and to thousands of U.S. military veterans. Lucille we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
