The Final Salute
“Brothers and Sisters in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Mrs. LaNelle Marie Black Scott a loving U.S. Air Force wife who provided dedicate service to her country, her community, her church and her family. To her family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for LaNelle. To LaNelle it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank her for her devotion to her husband, her family, her church, the U.S. Air Force and her country. Only a military wife knows the difficulties and great sacrifices associated with rearing a military family that relocated frequently and often included long separations from the one they loved most and anxious moments of concern for their safety. LaNelle, we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, the VFW Comrades of Post 4588 and the Disabled Veterans of DAV Chapter 30 in Shreveport and Bossier City, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to LaNelle’s family and loved ones.
