Obituary of LaNelle Marie Scott
Please share a memory of LaNelle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
"A gift from God, bride, love of life, best friend. I can't live without her."
LaNelle Marie Black Scott was born August 15, 1944 in Atlanta, GA. Sadly, LaNelle passed January 12, 2022, from a long illness. No services are scheduled at this time.
LaNelle met the love of her life in high school. LaNelle and Edward spent the next sixty years raising a family. She and Edward moved around while Edward proudly served his country in the Air Force. They finally settled in Haughton, Louisiana.
Spring was LaNelle’s favorite time of the year, as the new flowers, grass and leaves came out. She also loved the smell and sound of the ocean. When she had the time, she loved to crochet baby blankets for expecting parents in her church, Eastwood Baptist Church.
LaNelle is survived by her husband, Edward C. Scott, Jr.; children, Eddie Scott and wife Janis, and Candy Ramsey and husband Michael; grandchildren, Steven Scott and wife Laura, Brian Scott, Nicholas Ramsey, and Amanda Gordon and husband Greg; great-grandchildren, Cheyanne Scott and Kingsley Scott; friends, Mel Johnson, Dennis Mosley, David Lynx, and John Burns; and many other family members and friends.
LaNelle loved her Lord and Savior and her family. Her favorite saying is “Faith in the Father. Believe in the Son and you will be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Her loving and kind spirit touched so many throughout her life. She will be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing this precious lady.
