A Salute of Appreciation
Military personnel have traditionally rendered a “Salute of Appreciation” to those employees of the Veterans Administration who have dedicated many years of professional service in aiding and caring for veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
This “Salute of Appreciation” is rendered to Mrs. Barbara Ann (Bobbie) Walker a retired Registered Nurse at the Overton Brooks Veterans Hospital who provided many years of dedicated medical care to ArkLaTex veterans. To her family it symbolizes the love and respect that we veterans have for Bobbie. And to Bobbie it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank her for her service and devotion to her family, her country and to thousands of U.S. military veterans. Bobbie we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 881 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, the 165 veterans of VFW Post 2238 and the 157 Voyageur Militaire 40&8 veterans of Voiture 137 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Bobbie’s family and loved ones.

I am so sorry for your loss. Barbara and I were in Red Hats together and also in Book Club together. I will surely miss her sweet smile and personality. I pray that the Lord would comfort you during this time of sadness.
